It’s been a couple of weeks (and a bit) since my last update, but I have an excuse, seriously! My dog ate my DSL connection. emoticon

Seriously though, I have finally ordered some couches and bedroom furniture so I can resume normal living operations. – Scheduled for completion in 4-6 weeks. -

I also recently had a plumber come out and clean out my shower drain – so now I can shower like a normal person (ie. and not have to stand in 2cm of water).

I did spend the last 5 days in sunny Queensland (will have some photos up soon).

Anyways, time for bed for little Lozz. I will have some more updates over the next week.

Take care chookies!

New deskToday marked the end of the first weekend I’ve had to myself for a while (again). Some of the highlights included: cooked breakfasts, turning off my phone, and a guest appearance from Mr Sleep-In.

On the left here you can see my new work-bench, which I picked up from APN for $5 (as they were getting rid of their old furniture).

I can now continue that world-changing work on my remote controlled cars and other toys I plan to build.

My dining table also finally received the attention required, with floor protector pads being stuck onto the bottom of the seat and table legs – preventing scratchs. The seats also were blessed with a treatment of Scotch-gard so that I can now spill wine on them.

My doors were finally put on eBay (click here to go to the auction), and my car was put on CarSales (click here for the ad).

Apart from all that, the various cleaning and minor repairs/upgrades were performed around the place.

It’s oh so quiet…. shhh…. shhh!

Hanging out to dryAgain my relaxation and productivity this weekend have been ursurped by having to work, however I did manage to get a few home improvements done.

As you can see on the right, my Lozz-powered bike now has a new home out of the rain and out of the way.

Some other tasks were finally accomplished such as the complete re-cabling of my study (we now have filtered power!), un-blocking the drain in the shower, and a few other odds and sods.

One of the bigger jobs of the weekend was the de-commissioning of my PC / server that has served me faithfully since about 2002. Now my study is absolutely silent, even with my new PC in there. The notebook is generally off and packed away – so no sound there.

All in all it’s coming together slowly but surely…

And fade out.

Putty

This putty stuff has made me go bonkers! I keep looking for holes in the wall so I can use my wonderful putty to fill them up.

Most holes (where there used to be nails or screws) have now been filled. Some need another coat of putty to fill them up, but most are ready for sanding.

The weekend coming brings a fair few tasks to attend to, some of which will include heavy drilling (ooooooh exciting!).

On the whole the renovations are coming along slowly but surely. The next couple of tasks are a wardrobe and new blinds, and possibly that damn heater/lamp/fan for my bathroom.

The list never ends, and the fun keeps on rolling!

Well, there truly is no rest of the wicked. emoticon

This poor little boy spent all weekend working, then had to fit a huge amount of chores into a single day – as well as some more work!

I did manage to slip in a bit more putty work filling up some holes – making them nice and smooth. Only a few more to go, then I can start of thinking of painting!

In other news, my dad decided to buy me a 6.1 audio system! A lucky little boy I am.

This weekend coming I aim to do some more serious work around the place; such as hanging my bike hook & latch, trimming crusty old dried paint (the stuff that used to be around wall-based objects), and probably re-cabling my study (for extra nerd capacity).

Yes, the life of The Virgin Renovator has slowed down somewhat while The Virgin Cook and The Virgin Stylemaster have taken centre stage – but the balance of power is soon to change.

There’s only one thing I can’t seem to fix… my broken heart. (Awww… what a sob story.)

Well, some well overdue overhauls/upgrades/renovations were done all around.

The day started well with some shopping at the lovely Church St in Brighton. What took place was a completion fashion upgrade for yours truly – who really REALLY needed it!

Kudos to Sarah for some great style choices – a new Lozz has emerged.

My bike also received some minor upgrades and new parts, seeing as I do a lot more biking around now on weekends.

And today marked the first putty experience, with a few "trial" holes being filled. We’ll see how well I did tomorrow morning before I do the rest.

Fill her up baby!

Finally, I no longer have to take my meals at the study table (ie. in front of the computer).

Resting after some hard work

Today marked the arrival of my beautiful new dining suite.

This was celebrated by the consumption of beer and pizza with some dear friends.

I’m just so excited that finally I’m not restricted to living in just my bedroom or study. I can now actually buy a newspaper or magazine as I have somewhere to read it!

This weekend a good mate Bobby is coming around to help with thing electrical!

Amen

Well, what a fantastic weekend this was (and bear in mind, the first one I’ve had for a while).

I got a fair bit done around the house (cleaning, installing door handles, sorting things out). Oh, did I happen to mention I turned 28 on Saturday? Yeah, that happened too.

Birthday picsQuite a good party with some great friends, and a lot of singing. (click the photo for more pics)

A big thank you to all those that came along and made it the great night that it was!

My family bought me a fantastic cordless tool set which included: jigsaw, circular saw, drill, lamp, sander. Quite a damn good set. I also used my bolt cutters for the first time this weekend – wow that was fun!

I also used both drills at the same time (well, not literally – but I had different heads in each drill so I didn’t have to keep changing heads, just swap drills).

Also, during the week I purchased one of those light/heater/fan combos for my bathroom – so that will also be installed soon. I also purchased a dining suite, and the new Georgie Foreman griller.

Do you think I’m gearing up towards being a good host?

BRING IT ON!!!

Not a lot has been happening around here due to my lack of time with work and study. I’ve been getting a few quotes on upgrades (ie. wardrobe, hot water system, bathroom lighting/heating/ventilation).

Fancy equipmentThe study has turned into quite a schmick looking room with my new PC and all.

Unfortunately I’m still living in it, but I’m hoping to buy a dining set this weekend.

Apart from that, the cooking goes well and so does the beard growing.

Next week I will have some photos up of my 28th birthday party.

I think I can, I think I can…

There’s only so much one a single person can do and endure.

For the past two weekends I have been attending training for Citrix Presentation Server 4 which has been starting at 9am and lasting until about 4pm each day. This only leaves so many hours in the day to unwind, attend to tasks and actually enjoy life.

As a result, yours truly hasn’t really done much around the place except get rid of more rubbish/items and keep the home clean.

I have however attempted cooking up some stir fry – with rather delicious results!

Also new in my life is a PC with 19" LCD monitor which adds to the clutter in my office. It does however mean I can watch my shows on a larger screen (until I get the projector). This PC will also act as my media centre for the lounge room once I get the rest of the equipment.

Time to crack open a beer, eat some yummy dinner and put the feet up and watch a Dido concert.

Coming soon…. Lozz turns 28!
